Take care of your sex toys and they will take care of you. It is important to understand that un-cleaned sex toys can transmit STD’s and other viruses and you will end up re-infecting yourself.

• Always clean carefully before and after. Every single time before you use the toy, check if it has got rough edge and clean carefully.
• Some materials have specific cleaning requirements … read and follow any instructions that come with them, or follow the general advice below.
• Antibacterial soap and warm water is a must for cleaning toys. And remember to remove batteries if your toy is battery-operated.

• If you are going to share toys or use the same toy vaginally and anally, the most reliable way to prevent the spread of any disease is to use a condom. Using a condom prevents having to interrupt to wash up and also will substantially reduce the risk of transmission.
• You can find lots of information about condoms – read "Condom Sense" here! Even if you are using a condom on the toy make sure that you clean it after every use.

The best material currently available for toys for penetration. Silicone is a very durable yet soft material. Because it is non-porous, it’s easy to clean with soap and water, it can even be boiled in water for up to five minutes to disinfect.

Silicone can be damaged by tearing. Even a small cut will quickly turn into a large tear, so keep your toy away from sharp objects, teeth, etc.

Anything that is on the device that is not silicone could be damaged and in this particular case a cleaning with soap and water will be all that you can do.

Your silicone toy can lead a long and happy life if it’s properly taken care of.

Wash glass toys with mild liquid soap and warm water. Abrasive cleaners will scratch the surface and ruin the finish. Do not expose glass to extreme temperatures. Glass toys should not be boiled, microwaved, or put in the freezer as it weakens the glass.

Keep in mind that any glass product can be damaged upon impact with a hard surface such as other glass, cement or metal. Also, because they are hard, internal use should be gentle, not rough. Examine your toy before each use. If you notice a crack in your glass toy, stop using it-you wouldn’t want to risk having it break during use.

If done correctly, glass toys can be heated and cooled for sensation play. Heat your toy by submerging in warm water for 20-30 minutes to ensure that heat reaches the core. Once warmed, your toy can retain heat for 20-30 minutes, depending on the toy size and heating time. To cool or chill, submerge in ice water for 20-30 minutes, or chill in a refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.

Jelly rubber is a porous material that can’t be completely disinfected; for this reason we recommend using condoms on jelly rubber toys every time you use them, even if the toy will only be used by one person.

Very mild hand soap to clean (no alcohol, no bleach) and hot water, be sure to remove any soap residue before the next use.

Only water based lubricants should be used.

It’s a good material for people to explore what they might want to try, but for long term use, if you’ve got the money you should go for better quality

Soft vinyl toys have a smooth, flexible surface that is easy to clean, and typically contains a much lower level of chemicals than those of jelly-rubber toys. We recommend cleaning soft vinyl toys by wiping with a soapy cloth and warm water.

Vinyl toys are midway between jelly rubber and silicone in most ways, and can be an alternative to jelly rubber without being as expensive as silicone.

Cyberskin is a material that is more realistic-looking and feeling and super-soft materials. Toys made with Cyberskin materials are extremely sensitive and should be washed delicately with mild soap and warm water but should not be boiled like other silicone toys. Air-dry, then powder with a small amount of cornstarch and stored in a clean dry place. Be careful because it tears so easily. Never use talcum powder fro health concerns.

Cyberskin is porous, can’t be disinfected, and may contain some of the same chemicals found in jelly-rubber, thus condoms are always recommended.

To clean elastomer toys, wash them with mild soap and water.

Leather is a very difficult material to keep clean. Wipe leather products with a damp, soapy cloth or with leather cleaner. Wiping down with a 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol solution will disinfect toys that come into contact with body fluids and allow it to dry. The last process is using a leather conditioner to restore it back to its natural finish. The leather conditioner is a must because without it the leather will begin to dry
